An active-duty Soldier with more than 18 years of service, Staff Sgt. Brittany Ramsey deployed in 2013-2014 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Following her deployment, she sustained several post-deployment injuries to her full core region, including a bilateral hip labral tear, stage three pelvic floor prolapse, and a lumbar slip disc.
Ramsey has faced challenges that are often invisible to others, but rather than allowing those experiences to define her, she has chosen to grow through them.
For her, adaptive sports became a space for healing, a way to reconnect with her body, rebuild confidence, and rediscover the joy of movement and community.
She is grateful to her family and the staff at the Soldier Recovery Unit at Joint Base Lewis-McChord for their support during her recovery.
