The Army Recovery Care Program (ARCP) transitions Soldiers, their families, and/or caregivers back to the force and/or to veteran status, through a comprehensive program of medical care, rehabilitation, professional development and achievement of personal goals. The ARCP used to be known as the Warrior Care and Transition Program.
In accordance with HQDA EXORD 048-20 (WARRIOR CARE AND TRANSITION PROGRAM RESTRUCTURE), "SRU admission eligibility is based upon the complexity of the Soldier’s condition requiring either clinical case management and/or the evaluation of a psychological condition posing a substantial danger to the Soldier or others if he/she remains assigned to their parent unit." Medical professionals determine the complexity of care through the aggregate assessment of a severity of illness, degree of impairment, and required level of comprehensive care management.
To assist commanders with obtaining requisite administrative documents and point of contact rosters, ARCP has developed this page to serve as an informational resource. Based upon the Soldier’s current duty status and assignment location, units will complete and submit entry packet requests as annotated below.
Method of Entry 1: Regular Army (RA) or Active Guard Reserve (AGR) Soldiers assigned/attached to an installation with a co-located SRU
Unit commanders will complete required administrative documents contained in the "Entry Method 1 Document Section" requesting entry into the SRU on assigned installation for RA/AGR Soldiers. After completing required forms, forward to the co-located installation Soldier Readiness Unit. Method of Entry 2: Regular Army (RA) or Active Guard Reserve (AGR) Soldiers assigned/attached to an installation without a co-located SRU (Geographical Dispersed)
Unit commanders will complete required administrative documents contained in the "Entry Method 2 Document Section" requesting entry into a SRU within assigned regional catchment area. After completing required forms, forward to respective Regional Health Command Recovery Care Office for processing. Method of Entry 3: ARNG and USAR Soldiers currently on continuous active-duty orders greater than 30 days
a) For Soldiers not on SRU evaluation orders, unit commanders will complete required administrative documents contained in the "Entry Method 3 Document Section" to request entry into the SRU (resident or RM2). After completing required forms, forward to respective service component representative (i.e. USAR Warrior Transition Support Program (WTSP) or NGB Medical Actions Branch) for further processing. b) For Soldiers on SRU-E Orders, the SRUs will facilitate entry packets for RC soldiers on SRU-E order who have demobilized through the MFGIs. After completing required forms, forward to respective RHC RCO.
Method of Entry 4: ARNG and USAR Soldiers NOT on continuous active-duty orders greater than 30 days (i. e. M-Day, TPU, AT, ADT)
Unit commanders will complete required administrative documents contained in the "Entry Method 4 Document Section" to request entry into the SRU (resident or RM2). After completing required forms, forward to respective service component representative (ie USAR Warrior Transition Support Program (WTSP) or NGB Medical Actions Branch). Method of Entry 5: ARNG and USAR Soldiers previously on continuous active-duty orders greater than 30 days; Requesting SRU/RM2 within a 45-day window of REFRAD.
ARNG (Compo 2) and USAR (Compo 3) Soldiers who were released from active duty within 45 days are eligible to apply for SRU entry (resident or RM2). Unit commanders will complete required administrative documents contained in the "Entry Method 5 Document Section" to request entry into the SRU. After completing required forms, forward to respective service component representative (i.e USAR Warrior Transition Support Program (WTSP) or NGB Medical Actions Branch).
Method of Entry 6: MEDEVAC RA ARNG/USAR Soldiers on Continuous active-duty orders greater than 30 days:
The SRU will facilitate entry packet requests for medical evacuated ARNG (Compo 2) and USAR (Compo 3) Soldiers. SRU representatives will contact the parent unit of ARNG/USAR Soldiers and/or the WTSP or NGB to initiate the completion of required administrative documents.
Method of Entry 7: ARNG and USAR Emergent
Unit commanders will complete required administrative documents contained in the "Entry Method 8 Document Section" to request emergent entry into the SRU. This category applies to Soldiers in an official duty status ( i.e. Annual Training, TPU drilling, M-DAY) that experiences an emergent event (i.e., motor vehicle accident) requiring SRU admission. After completing required forms, forward to respective service component representative (i.e., USAR Warrior Transition Support Program (WTSP) or NGB Medical Actions Branch).
