Ret. Master Sgt. Christopher Morago began his Army career in March 1996.
Morago has been recognized with numerous awards, including four Army Commendation Medals, three Army Achievement Medals, the Army Good Conduct Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Medal. He is Air Assault qualified and has also earned the German Gafette Badge. In addition, he has received 18 challenge coins from senior leaders in recognition of his performance and commitment to Army standards of excellence.
Throughout his career, Morago has been dedicated to training and mentoring Soldiers and helping develop the Army’s next generation of leaders. He has supported multiple missions throughout his career, including Operation Iraqi Freedom and the COVID-19 response mission.
Morago sustained several injuries and health challenges to include post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury.
Despite his injuries and health challenges, Morago stays focused on moving forward and encourages others to never accept defeat. One of his favorite activities is riding the recumbent bike. “It makes me feel alive,” he said.
His message is simple: live each day with purpose, because tomorrow is not guaranteed.
