Capt. Jake Malven, served in the active-duty Army for four years, primarily stationed in Germany.

In January 2025, his life changed forever when he was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, stopping his life and career in its tracks. Malven arrived at Walter Reed's Soldier Recovery Unit and began medically and mentally navigating his new lifelong illness.

Adaptive sports gave him a sense of purpose and helped him regain his mental and physical health. The community of Soldiers in similar situations gave Malven a sense of belonging and drive to push himself in adaptive sports. .

Motto:
"Make it count.”
