Cpt. Channda Mitchell takes immense pride in her 12 year service in the Army Reserve, with her most recent positions held being the 601st Company Commander and Army Field Support Battalion-Kuwait Deputy. While deployed in 2024, Cpt. Mitchell was appointed as the Investigating Officer on a case requiring her to go to multiple locations in Iraq and Syria. While leaving Syria, Cpt. Mitchell’s helicopter banked sharply, causing her to hit her head. After losing feeling on her left side, imaging revealed she had sustained severe spinal cord injury and TBI. Cpt. Mitchell was Medevac'd to Walter Reed hospital, where she underwent surgery to free her spinal cord and fuse her cervical vertebrae.

She is currently receiving care at the Fort Bliss Solider Recovery Unit and the Center for the Intrepid. She thanks her family and battle buddies for being her rock, and the staff at Fort Bliss SRU for introducing her to all aspects of the Warrior Games and adaptive sports. She credits this discovery as the path to healing, both physically and mentally.

Cpt. Channda Mitchell will be competing for the Ultimate Champion title with Team Army.
