Retired Army Maj. Jeremy Ditlevson enlisted in the Army in 2004 when he was 30 years old and retired in May 2024 at the rank of Major. When he enlisted he served until the rank of Sergeant when he was selected for OCS in 2010 and became a Field Artillery Officer. He has held multiple positions to including FSO, FDO, Battery commander, S-4, and Strike Director. After returning from his 5th deployment, Maj. Ditlevson suffered a massive stroke which resulted in Hemiplegia of his right side, aphasia, and a partial vision impairment. He was evacuated to the Audie L. Murphy Poly-Trauma unit in San Antonio and assigned to the JB SA SRU for further treatment.
Maj. Ditlevson began his recovery in the Brain Injury Clinic and with Adaptive Rehabilitation in June 2023. They placed him in a pool and he began to swim. His swimming continues to improve every time he gets into the pool. Then, he started on an indoor row machine, which he keeps excelling at. He will face every challenge they put in front of him, including shot put and air rifle.
Maj. Ditlevson continues to thrive everyday. When the doctors said he would never walk again, he showed them he would face every battle head on. His recovery has gone beyond the expectations of all his doctors and care teams.
