Maj. Mandy Feindt joined the Soldier Recovery Unit after suffering neurological, cognitive, and vestibular issues. She recovered at the Fort Belvoir SRU. Also, this avid swimmer developed a fear of water to the point that she thought she would never swim again.

Adaptive sports have helped her overcome that fear and has been the most healing part of her SRU experience. The SRU has provided Maj. Feindt an opportunity to seek medical treatment for her own injuries and heal from the trauma she and her family have experienced. Training at Army Trials and getting to know the other athletes, hearing their stories, and to be able to share her own story has been life-changing.
