Master Sgt. Eric Patton has dedicated 30 years to the Army, including five years on active duty. He served on active duty from 1991 to 1996 and was stationed in Schweinfurt, Germany, for three years.
In April 2001, Patton joined the Idaho Army National Guard, where he continues to serve.
He deployed to Iraq in 2004 with the 145th Support Battalion and supported a two-week partnership program mission in Cambodia in 2019. In 2024, he deployed to Kosovo, where he began experiencing significant neck and shoulder pain and loss of mobility.
After returning from deployment, Patton was assigned to the Fort Carson Soldier Recovery Unit. While in recovery, he participated in multiple SRU activities and volunteered to support others whenever possible.
This is Patton’s first Warrior Games. He sees the opportunity as a meaningful milestone and a source of pride in representing Team Army.
Patton thanks his wife, Cheryl, and their children for supporting him throughout his career and deployments. He also expresses gratitude to his cadre, teammates at the SRU, and all who serve in defense of the nation.
Motto:
"I thank god for every day I’m on top of the green grass.”
