Retired Sgt. Jason Smith is a double amputee. He lost both legs in 2012. He found adaptive fitness in 2022 in the form of the Warrior Games. This will be Smith's third time participating in Warrior Games, and he represented our great nation in the 2023 lnvictus Games. Sgt. Smith will also serve as the Captain of Team Army.
Outside of fitness, Smith is a family-driven man. Smith lives on a farm and homeschooled his children. His goal in life is to give his children a stable and safe childhood, and to teach them right from wrong.
Smith works for a non profit organization called Catch a Lift Fund. He helps veterans heal holistically post career and injury. The organization provides grants for home gym equipment or gym memberships, and has an internal system that allows veterans to connect with other veterans within the program.
He has the honor of being selected as the Team Army Captain.
Quote:
“After losing both of my legs in 2012, I found adaptive sports via the Warrior Games. This will be my third time competing and I am proud to wear ‘Army’ across my chest.”
