Retired Spc. Justin Patrick Lane was born in Ohio and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He currently lives north of San Antonio with his wife, Crystal. Lane was deployed to Afghanistan in 2010, and this last deployment would change the rest of his life. Lane was injured when a @- 200 lb. improvised explosive device exploded. He sustained 26 injuries, including the loss of his legs and has been through 28 surgeries, to have a fighting chance at life. Lane will tell you he joined the U.S. Army to serve and protect the American people, and by the grace of God, he still does.

He continues to find new ways to inspire others through adaptive sports. He competed in his first DOD Warrior Games in 2024, bringing home three Gold medals. He is an endorsed Under Armour Freedom athlete and a national ambassador for Helping a Hero, where he speaks on building adaptive homes for combat-wounded veterans and their families. Lane and his wife, also known as Team Lane, promotes post-traumatic growth to combat wounded veterans and others across the country, helping them build.
