Staff Sgt. Chelsey Scott has served eight years on active duty as a 13B field artillery Soldier, including a deployment to Afghanistan in 2018. Her commitment to readiness, leadership, and service has defined both her career and her character.
Scott’s path shifted after a training accident at Pohakuloa Training Area, where she sustained multiple injuries to the right side of her body. The incident became a turning point, demanding intense physical and mental resilience.
Assigned to the Soldier Recovery Unit in Hawaii, Scott continues to focus on rehabilitation, rebuilding strength, and preparing to return to full duty. Adaptive competition has become an extension of her recovery, pushing her to regain strength, track progress, and rebuild confidence. It has also reinforced her determination to come back stronger than before. Scott remains committed to rejoining the fight and continuing to serve. Her journey reflects the resilience, grit, and warrior ethos of the U.S. Army.
