Fort Bliss, Texas - U.S. Army Sgt. Jose Villasenor, assigned to the Soldier Recovery Unit at Fort Bragg, performs the bench press during the powerlifting event at the 2026 Army Trials at Fort Bliss, Texas, Feb. 27, 2026. Villasenor is competing for the first time at the 2026 Army Recovery Care Program’s Army Trials. About 80 wounded, ill and injured active-duty Soldiers and veterans are competing in the following adaptive sports: archery, cycling, field, indoor rowing, powerlifting, shooting, sitting volleyball, swimming, track, wheelchair basketball, and wheelchair rugby. The top 40 competitors will be selected to represent Team Army at the 2026 Warrior Games in San Antonio, Texas, June 13-20.
