The Army Recovery Care Program is thrilled to unveil the roster for Team Army, who will proudly represent our nation's warriors at the 2024 Department of Defense Warrior Games. Set to take place from June 21st to June 30th, this year's event will be hosted at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. This venue promises to provide a fitting backdrop for the incredible feats of athleticism and resilience that will be on display.
Athletes from Team Army will showcase their exceptional abilities in a range of adaptive sporting events, including wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby, cycling, indoor rowing, swimming, sitting volleyball, track and field, archery, precision air sports, and powerlifting. These events not only demonstrate physical prowess but also embody the unwavering determination and resilience that define our military community.
Since its inception in 2010, the Warrior Games has been a beacon of hope and inspiration, honoring the resilience and commitment of wounded, ill, and injured active duty and veteran U.S. military personnel. Building upon this legacy, the Warrior Games offers a unique platform for competitors from all service branches to come together and compete, fostering camaraderie and solidarity.
Team Army comprises wounded, ill, and injured Soldiers whose strength, perseverance, and resilience exemplify the core values of the ARCP: "Recover and Overcome." As they embark on this journey, they carry with them the pride and support of a grateful nation, inspiring us all to overcome adversity and reach new heights.
