Soldier Family Assistance Centers (SFAC) services support military caregivers and their families. These centers are typically located near the inpatient hospitals at the local military base or installation where your Soldier is being treated. If you are directed to an SFAC you will be invited into an environment designed to provide Soldiers, the Soldier’s family, and supporting Caregivers a place to foster physical, spiritual, and mental healing. Local Base and Installation websites will have specific information related to the SFAC you will be assigned to during your inpatient stay. You can expect to get support for Lodging, Invitational Travel Authorization (ITA), entitlement and benefits counseling, and a variety of other social services. You will use this environment to process non-medical information critical to providing Soldier care and supporting your needs during your stay at your Soldier's bedside.
